I created this recipe for Cheddar Bacon Scones with that in mind. Cut the scones into desired shape and place them on the parchment paper lined baking sheet and brush the tops with the egg wash and remaining cheddar. Four words: Zucchini Bacon Cheddar Scones.   1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, use a slotted spoon to remove the bacon on to a plate and allow to cool completely. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper..

Cut the scones into desired shape and place them on the parchment paper lined baking sheet and brush the tops with the egg wash and remaining cheddar. Bake for 17 to 18 minutes or until golden brown, let them cool completely..

But the zucchini is the not-so-secret ingredient that takes these wedges over the top. Those are a few of my favorite ingredients and each one of them is hidden away inside these delightful little scones. These scones also freeze beautifully (fully-baked). I individually wrap in double-foil and then breakfast is ready for me when I don't have time to make it. This Scone has been made with excessive helpings of bacon, Mature Cheddar, bell peppers and the fiery side taste of black pepper.
