The sharp freshness of the coriander compliments the smoother taste of the chickpeas extremely well, giving the burger a balance of flavors. These Baked Falafel Burgers with chickpea patties, arugula, and tzatziki are a great vegetarian burger option and a nice change from classic falafel wraps!

Pureed chickpeas, seasoned with the characteristic flavors of falafel, make excellent veggie burgers. We use a two-stage method for cooking the patties, first browning them in a skillet and then finishing them in the oven.   1. It's 1 cup of soaked chick peas (soak overnight).

  14. It's optional of Dill yogurt sauce (just mix together).
  15. You need 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt.
  16. Prepare 2 tsp of dry dill weed.
  17. You need 1 tsp of salt.
  18. Prepare 1 tsp of pepper.
  19. Prepare 1 tsp of garlic.

Garnish the burgers with tzatziki or tahini sauce (see associated recipes), pickled red onions, lettuce and tomatoes. This Falafel recipe is easy, gluten-free, and naturally vegan! It's packed with fresh herbs and flavor and you can prepare it in the oven, on the stovetop, or with an air fryer! I had never made traditional Falafel before my recent trip to Israel , but once I had a bite of that crispy goodness, I knew I had to re-create it for the blog.

Easy Falafel Burger(baked)(gluten free PATTY) step by step

  1. Preheat oven 375 degrees F.
  2. Add herbs garlic onion to processor until a fine chop.
  3. Add soaked chickpeas, flour baking powder and spices and process until nicely pulsed into a slightly chunky “dough” shouldn’t be mushy but fine enough to form patty shapes.
  4. Form patties.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Add some oil of your choice to sheet pan rub a little to the top of patty so it doesn’t dry out too much.
  7. Bake for 10-13 mins until one side is nice and brown flip to bake other side the same way.
  8. Add to bun of your choice and add any toppings you like !.
